Raymond “Ray Guevara” Carter was born March 9, 1989 in Oakland,CA. In September of that same year, he learned how to walk, a clear indication that he was advanced far beyond his time and that trait would follow him throughout life. At a very young age he became VERY intrested in music, and used his intelligence, as well as his advanced diction to began writing full songs at the tender age of ten. By the Age of 12 he fell in Love with HIP-HOP music after purchasing Jay-Z’s “The Blueprint” and wrote music EVERY day prior to that. As a scholar student, and exceptional Basketball player Ray put music on the back burner (aside from writing), to excel in education which he accomplished by graduating with a B average. Directly after High School, he enrolled in Junior College and shifted his focus back to Music. His execeptional wordplay, unique voice, clever metaphors and song writing ability helped him record many original songs, and caught the attention of many in the bay area. Shortly after, he joined the short lived group Tha Flatlinerz and began his journey to musical stardom. The stage name “Ray Guevara” is a ode to The Cuban Revolutionary Che Guevara, and a reminder to stand up for what you believe in. Ray is an incredibily gifted and diverse artist. He contains Charisma, intelligence, creativity, and incredible lyricism. He is a very humble young man with a real love for Hip-Hop and music in general. Some of his Many influences are Jay-Z, Andre 3000, Big-L, Mac Dre, Lil’ Wayne, and 50 Cent. This young man has a very strong drive accompanied with a tremendous amount of talent, and a solid personality that will surely take him far. Prepare to Get Familiar.
